Caden Biosciences was a biotechnology company based in Madison, Wisconsin, that specialized in G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) drug discovery. The company developed a proprietary screening platform designed to identify small molecule drug candidates by analyzing GPCRs in their native cellular environment. This approach aimed to overcome the limitations of traditional recombinant screening methods by providing more biologically accurate data. Caden's research efforts were primarily focused on therapeutic areas such as the central nervous system, pain, and metabolic disorders. In 2008, the company was acquired by the Australian biopharmaceutical firm Bionomics, which integrated Caden's technology and expertise into its own CNS-focused drug discovery pipeline.
