Cadent Holdings

Cadent Holdings was a private medical device and digital dentistry company that developed and commercialized 3D digital scanning solutions for orthodontics and dentistry. The company was best known for the iTero intra-oral scanning system and OrthoCAD digital solutions, which supported digital impressions, orthodontic workflows, and restorative dental applications. Cadent operated commercially rather than as a therapeutic drug developer, so its business centered on hardware, imaging, and software for dental practices and laboratories. Align Technology announced an agreement to acquire Cadent in March 2011 and completed the transaction in April 2011, after which Cadent's technologies became part of Align's digital dentistry portfolio.
