CAIBER (Consorcio de Apoyo a la Investigación Biomédica en Red) was a Spanish public consortium established to provide a centralized infrastructure for clinical research and multicenter clinical trials across Spain. Operating as a non-profit contract research organization (CRO), it integrated over 40 clinical research units within the Spanish National Health System to streamline the development of innovative therapies. The organization focused on providing methodological, regulatory, and management support to academic and industrial researchers to improve the quality and efficiency of clinical trials. CAIBER was dissolved in late 2012, with its functions and infrastructure integrated into the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and subsequently the SCREN platform.
