Caja Nacional de Salud

Caja Nacional de Salud (CNS) is the largest public health insurance and provider institution in Bolivia, dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care and social security benefits to the nation's workers. Established to manage short-term health risks, the organization operates an extensive network of primary, secondary, and tertiary care facilities, including hospitals and specialized clinics throughout the country. CNS provides a wide range of services encompassing general medicine, specialized surgery, maternity care, and pharmaceutical distribution to its millions of affiliates. As a decentralized entity under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, it is funded through mandatory contributions from employers and employees. The institution is a cornerstone of the Bolivian healthcare system, ensuring medical access and financial protection for a significant portion of the formal labor force.
