Company intelligence / Profile preview
Calbiochem-Novabiochem was a leading global supplier of specialized reagents and kits for life science research, formed by the merger of Calbiochem and Novabiochem. The company was renowned for its extensive catalog of signal transduction inhibitors, biochemicals, and high-quality resins and amino acids for peptide synthesis. In 2003, the parent company CN Biosciences was acquired by Merck KGaA for approximately 260 million USD. Following the acquisition, the business was integrated into EMD Biosciences and later became part of MilliporeSigma. While no longer an independent corporate entity, the Calbiochem and Novabiochem brands remain highly recognized in the scientific community for research-grade chemicals. They continue to support drug discovery and academic research through the MilliporeSigma distribution network.
