Calcutta House was a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing and supportive services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1987, the organization addressed the critical need for compassionate residential care, including hospice and skilled nursing, for those in the final stages of AIDS. Over the decades, it expanded its services to include permanent supportive housing and independent living assistance. In 2016, Calcutta House merged with ActionAIDS to form Action Wellness, a comprehensive healthcare and social service agency. Today, its legacy continues through the integrated programs of Action Wellness, which serves thousands of clients living with chronic illnesses in the Greater Philadelphia area.
