Caliber Biotherapeutics was a biotechnology company specializing in the development and manufacturing of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies using a proprietary plant-based expression system. Based in Bryan, Texas, the company operated one of the world's largest plant-based pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, utilizing Nicotiana benthamiana for rapid protein production. Caliber focused on addressing global health challenges, including infectious diseases and oncology, through its high-throughput upstream and downstream processing capabilities. The company was a significant participant in the DARPA Blue Angel program, demonstrating the ability to produce millions of vaccine doses in weeks. In 2016, Caliber was acquired by iBio, Inc., which integrated the facility into its contract development and manufacturing operations to support its iBioLaunch platform.
