California Growers Association

The California Growers Association (CGA) was a prominent non-profit trade association representing the interests of cannabis cultivators and businesses throughout California. Founded during the state's pivotal transition toward a legalized and regulated market, the organization served as a primary advocacy body for small and medium-sized farms. CGA focused on promoting sustainable agricultural practices, fair taxation, and the protection of legacy growing regions. The association played a critical role in the development of the Medical and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA) by lobbying state legislators and regulatory agencies. Although it was a leading voice in the industry for several years, the organization eventually wound down its statewide operations as regional advocacy groups took the lead.
