Company intelligence / Profile preview
Caltag Laboratories was a specialized biotechnology company focused on the development and production of antibodies and reagents for flow cytometry and immunology research. Established in 1985, the company gained a strong reputation for its extensive catalog of monoclonal antibodies conjugated to diverse fluorochromes, including proprietary tandem dyes. Their products, such as the Fix & Perm cell permeabilization kits, became industry standards for intracellular staining and cell analysis. In 2005, Caltag was acquired by Invitrogen Corporation for $20 million, and its product line was subsequently integrated into the Invitrogen and Molecular Probes portfolios within Thermo Fisher Scientific.
