Calysseo

Calysseo is a private joint venture formed by Adisseo and Calysta to commercialize FeedKind, a methane-based single-cell microbial protein for aquaculture feed in Asian markets. The company operates the first industrial-scale FeedKind production facility in Changshou, Chongqing, China, with initial nameplate capacity of about 20,000 tonnes per year. Its core product is a non-animal, non-plant alternative protein ingredient produced by fermentation of methanotrophic microorganisms and positioned as a sustainable feed input for fish and shrimp. Calysseo functions as the exclusive licensee of Calysta's patented FeedKind technology for its target markets and is also evaluating a larger future project in Saudi Arabia. The business sits at the intersection of industrial biotech, cellular agriculture, and animal nutrition rather than human therapeutics.
