Cambridge Laboratories was a specialty pharmaceutical company headquartered in the United Kingdom, primarily focused on the Central Nervous System (CNS) and oncology therapeutic areas. The company's business model involved the acquisition, development, and commercialization of niche pharmaceutical products. Its flagship product, Xenazine (tetrabenazine), became a standard of care for treating chorea associated with Huntington's disease and was licensed to major partners for global distribution. In February 2010, Cambridge Laboratories was acquired by Alliance Pharma in a deal valued at approximately £65 million. This acquisition significantly expanded Alliance Pharma's portfolio of specialist secondary care products. Prior to its acquisition, the company was backed by private equity firm 3i and maintained operations in both the UK and Ireland.
