Cambridge Peptides was a UK-based contract research organization specializing in the custom synthesis of peptides for pharmaceutical and biotechnological applications. The company provided a wide range of services, including the production of modified peptides, peptide libraries, and specialty reagents for research and clinical development. It was recognized for its expertise in complex peptide chemistry, including fluorescent labeling and stable isotope incorporation. In October 2007, Cambridge Peptides was acquired by the Almac Group, a global contract development and manufacturing organization. This acquisition allowed Almac to significantly expand its peptide synthesis capabilities and integrate Cambridge Peptides' technical expertise into its Almac Sciences division. The company's operations were subsequently merged into Almac's broader service portfolio, supporting drug discovery programs worldwide.
