Campbell Laboratories

Campbell Laboratories was a specialty pharmaceutical company primarily focused on the development and manufacture of over-the-counter (OTC) dermatological and lip care products. The company is most notably recognized for creating Herpecin-L, a medicated lip balm that became a leading treatment for cold sores, sun-damaged lips, and fever blisters. Founded in the mid-20th century, the company established a strong presence in the consumer healthcare market before its core assets were acquired. In 1990, the Herpecin-L brand was sold to Chattem, Inc., which was later acquired by Sanofi, where the product continues to be marketed today.
