Canadian Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre

The Canadian Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre (CCTCC) was a collaborative initiative established to enhance Canada's clinical trial environment and competitiveness on the global stage. Formed through a partnership between Innovative Medicines Canada, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and the Health Charities Coalition of Canada (HCCC), the organization focused on streamlining administrative processes and improving the efficiency of clinical research. Its primary contributions included the creation of the Model Clinical Trial Agreement (mCTA) to standardize contracting and the Canadian Clinical Trials Asset Map (CCTAM), a comprehensive database of research sites and investigators. While it played a pivotal role in coordinating national clinical trial strategies, its core functions and tools have largely been integrated into its founding partner organizations and broader provincial clinical trial entities.
