Canadian Pork Council

The Canadian Pork Council (CPC) is the national voice for hog producers in Canada, representing nine provincial pork organizations and approximately 7,000 farms. Established in 1966, the council serves as a leadership organization that advocates for the interests of the pork industry on both national and international stages. Its primary focus areas include market access, animal health and welfare, food safety, and environmental stewardship. The CPC manages the Canadian Pork Excellence (CPE) platform, which includes the PigSAFE and PigCARE programs to ensure high standards of food safety and animal care. Additionally, the organization plays a critical role in national biosecurity initiatives and disease surveillance, particularly concerning African Swine Fever.
