Cancer Center of San Antonio

The Cancer Center of San Antonio (CCSA) was a premier private oncology practice and clinical research facility based in San Antonio, Texas. It gained international recognition for its specialized focus on early-phase clinical drug development, operating in close partnership with South Texas Accelerated Research Therapeutics (START). As a primary site for Phase I clinical trials, the center played a critical role in advancing numerous novel oncology agents from the laboratory to clinical use. In October 2014, the practice was acquired by Texas Oncology, a member of The US Oncology Network, while its research founders continued to lead global Phase I research efforts through the START organization.
