Company intelligence / Profile preview
CancerGene Connect is a cloud-based SaaS platform designed to streamline the collection, analysis, and management of patient family history for genetic counseling. Originally developed at UT Southwestern Medical Center and commercialized by Ommdom Inc., the platform allows clinicians to gather patient data remotely, run complex risk assessment algorithms, and generate pedigrees and reports. In 2017, the company was acquired by Invitae Corporation to enhance its genome management and genetic information services. The tool is widely used by oncology departments and genetic counseling practices to identify individuals with a genetic predisposition to cancer and other hereditary conditions. Following Invitae's restructuring in 2024, the platform continues to serve as a critical component of genetic risk assessment workflows.
