Candu Energy Inc. is a leading Canadian nuclear technology company and a wholly owned subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis (formerly SNC-Lavalin). As the exclusive licensee and original equipment manufacturer of CANDU (Canada Deuterium Uranium) reactor technology, the company designs and delivers nuclear reactors, carries out life extension projects, and provides operations and maintenance services globally. Beyond generating clean electricity, CANDU reactors play a critical role in global healthcare as the only commercial nuclear power reactors capable of efficiently co-producing medical radioisotopes during operation. These reactors produce approximately 50% of the world's supply of Cobalt-60, used for medical equipment sterilization and cancer therapy, as well as Lutetium-177 and Molybdenum-99 for targeted cancer treatments and diagnostic imaging.
