Cangene bioPharma was a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in the fill-finish of sterile injectable drug products. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the company operated as a subsidiary of the Canadian biotechnology firm Cangene Corporation and provided services for both clinical and commercial-stage biopharmaceutical products. Its capabilities included process development, analytical testing, and large-scale production of liquid and lyophilized formulations for biologics and small molecules. In 2014, Cangene Corporation and its subsidiaries were acquired by Emergent BioSolutions for approximately $222 million. The Baltimore facility was subsequently integrated into Emergent's global manufacturing network, continuing to serve as a key site for contract manufacturing services.
