Canines-N-Kids Foundation

Canines-N-Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the development of cures for cancers shared by children and pet dogs. The foundation utilizes the field of comparative oncology, which studies naturally occurring cancers in pets to better understand and treat similar diseases in humans. Their primary focus areas include osteosarcoma, brain cancer, lymphoma, and hemangiosarcoma, all of which affect both pediatric patients and canines. By funding cross-disciplinary research and clinical trials, the foundation aims to bridge the gap between veterinary and human medicine. This approach helps to identify promising new therapies more quickly and cost-effectively than traditional mouse models. CNK fosters collaborations between leading pediatric and veterinary oncologists to advance translational research.
