Company intelligence / Profile preview
Canonic was an Israel-based medical cannabis biotechnology company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Evogene focused on developing medical-grade cannabis products using computational biology, genomics, and AI-guided breeding. The company aimed to create stable cannabis varieties with defined cannabinoid and terpene profiles for specific medical effects, and commercialized products in Israel under its G-nnovation line. Canonic also advanced a Precise program intended to develop products for indications such as pain and inflammation, supported by preclinical work and patent filings. Its operating model relied on Evogene’s technology platform while outsourcing cultivation, production, and distribution to licensed partners. Evogene announced in May 2024 that it was ceasing Canonic’s operations due to challenging market conditions in medical cannabis.
