Capella Healthcare was a leading operator of general acute care and specialty hospitals in the United States, primarily serving non-urban and mid-sized markets. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, the company focused on improving clinical quality and expanding medical services through strategic partnerships with local communities. In 2015, the company was acquired by Medical Properties Trust for approximately $900 million, and its operations were subsequently merged with RegionalCare Hospital Partners in 2016 to form RCCH Health Care Partners. Following a further merger in 2018, the organization became part of LifePoint Health, continuing its mission of providing high-quality community-based healthcare.
