CaptiGen

CaptiGen was a private healthcare tools company that developed swab-based microbial sampling products for diagnostic testing workflows. Its core product, CaptiSwab, was designed as a sterile sampling device intended to improve specimen absorption and release for standard culture, RT-PCR, and next-generation sequencing applications. The company appears to have operated primarily as a medical device and diagnostics-enabling business rather than a therapeutics developer. In April 2022, MicroGenDX announced that it had acquired Captigen and its flatswab inventory, indicating that CaptiGen was absorbed into MicroGenDX and is no longer operating as an independent active company.
