Cardiac Control Systems (CCSI) was a medical technology company that specialized in the development and manufacture of cardiac rhythm management devices, primarily pacemakers. The company was recognized for its innovative "Diamond" series of rate-responsive pacemakers, which utilized advanced sensors to adjust heart rates based on patient activity levels. Founded in the early 1980s and based in Palm Coast, Florida, CCSI operated as a publicly traded company before its acquisition by Intermedics in 1995. Its technology and product lines were subsequently integrated into the portfolios of Guidant and later Boston Scientific, contributing to the evolution of modern cardiac pacing technology.
