Cardiac Pathways

Cardiac Pathways was a medical technology company specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac tachyarrhythmias. The company developed the Chilli Cooled Ablation System and the Realtime Position Management (RPM) system, which allowed for precise, non-fluoroscopic mapping and ablation of heart tissue. These technologies were specifically designed to address complex arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. The Chilli system utilized internal cooling to allow for deeper lesions while minimizing surface tissue damage. In 2001, the company was acquired by Boston Scientific for approximately $115 million, integrating its electrophysiology products into Boston Scientific's broader cardiovascular portfolio.
