Cardiome Pharma developed and commercialized several cardiovascular and anti-infective drugs including vernakalant (IV, branded as BRINAVESS) for rapid conversion of recent-onset atrial fibrillation, AGGRASTAT (tirofiban) for acute coronary syndrome, short-acting beta‑blockers ESMOCARD/ESMOCARD LYO for rate control, XYDALBA (dalbavancin) for acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections, and TREVYENT (a treprostinil patch system) for pulmonary arterial hypertension.[1] These products reached commercial stage in various territories, but the company faced financial and strategic challenges and ultimately ceased independent public trading and was effectively acquired, so its assets and products are now held and commercialized under successor ownership structures.[1]
