CareScience was a pioneer in healthcare clinical analytics and decision support services, providing software and services to hospitals and health systems to improve the quality and efficiency of care. Founded in 1992, the company developed sophisticated risk-adjustment methodologies that allowed healthcare providers to benchmark their clinical performance against national standards. Its flagship product, the CareScience Quality Manager, helped organizations identify opportunities for clinical improvement and reduce medical errors. The company went public in 2000 and was subsequently acquired by Quovadx in 2003. In 2007, the CareScience business unit was acquired by Premier, Inc., where its analytics capabilities were integrated into Premier's broader healthcare performance improvement platform.
