Company intelligence / Profile preview
Caring Voice Coalition (CVC) was a prominent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provided financial assistance and advocacy services to patients suffering from rare and chronic diseases. Established in 2003, the foundation focused on helping patients afford expensive specialty medications by covering insurance co-payments, premiums, and travel expenses. The organization also offered social work support and educational resources to help patients navigate the complexities of the healthcare system. At its peak, CVC was one of the largest patient assistance foundations in the United States, managing hundreds of millions of dollars in annual contributions. However, the organization ceased its operations and patient assistance programs in late 2019 following a Department of Justice investigation. The investigation alleged that the foundation acted as an improper conduit for drug manufacturers to subsidize their own products, leading to the revocation of its federal advisory opinion.
