Carle Foundation Hospital

Carle Foundation Hospital is a 489-bed regional tertiary care center in Urbana, Illinois. It is the flagship of the not-for-profit Carle Health system. The hospital holds Magnet designation for nursing excellence and serves as a Level I Trauma Center with advanced specialty institutes in cancer, neuroscience, heart/vascular disease, stroke care, perinatal services (Level III NICU), and more. It is also an academic teaching site affiliated with the University of Illinois’ engineering-based medical school. The institution provides comprehensive inpatient/outpatient services to over 350,000 unique patients annually across central Illinois and operates one of the nation’s largest rural health plans.
