Company intelligence / Profile preview
Cartesian Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering mRNA-engineered cell therapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. The company's proprietary RNA Armory platform enables the development of chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapies that utilize mRNA rather than DNA, allowing for transient expression and improved safety profiles. This approach eliminates the need for toxic lymphodepleting chemotherapy and facilitates outpatient administration, a significant advantage over conventional cell therapies. Its lead candidate, Descartes-08, is currently in Phase 2b clinical trials for generalized myasthenia gravis and is being evaluated for other conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus. Cartesian maintains its own cGMP manufacturing facility to support its pipeline and commercialization efforts.
