Cascade Biologics was a specialized life sciences company focused on the development and manufacture of primary cell culture systems. Founded in 1994 and based in Portland, Oregon, the company provided high-quality human and animal primary cells, along with optimized, serum-free, and specialized media for research applications. Their products were widely used in the study of cell biology, drug discovery, and the development of cell-based therapies, particularly in the fields of dermatology, oncology, and cardiovascular research. In 2007, Cascade Biologics was acquired by Invitrogen Corporation for approximately $25 million. Following subsequent mergers, its product line was integrated into the Gibco portfolio under Thermo Fisher Scientific.
