Caspian Therapeutics is a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company focused on developing small-molecule menin inhibitors as potentially disease-modifying therapies for diabetes and cardiometabolic diseases. Spun out from Kura Oncology in September 2026, the company is built around KO-7246, a next-generation, highly selective menin inhibitor optimized for chronic metabolic applications. Unlike traditional therapies that manage blood glucose or supplement insulin, Caspian's approach aims to selectively stimulate pancreatic beta-cell proliferation, expand functional beta-cell mass, and restore endogenous insulin production. Backed by a $50 million Series A financing led by BVF Partners with participation from Eli Lilly and Company, the T1D Fund, and others, Caspian is advancing KO-7246 through IND-enabling development toward initial clinical proof-of-concept.
