Caveo Therapeutics is a biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery and development of small molecule inhibitors targeting the TAM (Tyro3, Axl, MerTK) family of receptor tyrosine kinases. The company was founded to translate academic research from the University of Colorado and the University of North Carolina into clinical therapies for cancer patients. Its lead program, MRX-2843, is a dual MerTK and FLT3 inhibitor designed to treat hematologic malignancies such as Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). By inhibiting these kinases, Caveo's technology aims to induce apoptosis in cancer cells and overcome resistance to standard chemotherapy. Although the company's initial operations were centered in Colorado, its core assets have largely transitioned to Meryx, Inc. for ongoing clinical development.
