The company specialized in technology-enabled business process outsourcing (BPO), serving a vast network of hospitals and physician practices across the United States. In 2011, CBaySystems acquired its larger rival, MedQuist, and subsequently rebranded the combined entity as M*Modal to focus on advanced speech understanding and clinical documentation solutions.
