Cbusinez is a South Korean biotechnology company focused on developing first-in-class small molecule therapeutics for cancer and fibrotic diseases. The company leverages a proprietary platform that targets the C-terminus of proteins, specifically focusing on the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase (ARS) complex and its associated multi-protein complexes (AIMPs). Their lead program, CB-101, targets the AIMP2-DX2 splice variant for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. Another key program, CB-103, is a lysyl-tRNA synthetase (KRS) inhibitor being developed for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Cbusinez was established as a spin-off from the Medicinal Bioconvergence Research Center (Biocon) at Seoul National University, utilizing decades of research into ARS-mediated disease pathways.
