CDC III, LLC is a pharmaceutical intellectual property holding company founded by a group of prominent gastroenterologists, including Dr. Craig Aronchick, Dr. William Lipshutz, and Dr. Scott Wright. The company is primarily known for developing and owning the patents for OsmoPrep (sodium phosphate tablets), a prescription purgative used for colon cleansing prior to colonoscopy. CDC III licensed the rights to OsmoPrep to Salix Pharmaceuticals (now a subsidiary of Bausch Health) and has been involved in various patent litigations and licensing agreements related to the product. The company's founders also established InKine Pharmaceutical Company, which was acquired by Salix in 2005. CDC III continues to manage its portfolio of gastrointestinal-focused intellectual property and associated royalty streams.
