CDC IV, LLC is a specialty finance company and investment vehicle managed by Clinical Development Capital, an affiliate of the venture capital firm Care Capital. The company provides non-dilutive capital to biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms to support the clinical development of late-stage drug candidates, particularly Phase III trials. CDC IV is best known for its 2005 Clinical Development and License Agreement with BioDelivery Sciences International (BDSI), through which it provided funding for the development of ONSOLIS (fentanyl buccal soluble film). In exchange for its investment, CDC IV holds rights to milestone payments and ongoing royalties on the net sales of the products it funds.
