CDF DEVELOPMENT

CureDuchenne Development Fund (CDF), now operating as CureDuchenne Ventures, is the venture philanthropy arm of the non-profit organization CureDuchenne. Established in 2010 and based in Newport Beach, California, the fund provides critical early-stage seed capital and strategic support to biotechnology companies developing treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). By utilizing a venture philanthropy model, CDF reinvests all financial returns from its investments back into further DMD research and development. The fund has played a pivotal role in the development of several FDA-approved therapies, including exon-skipping drugs and gene therapies, and continues to manage a diverse portfolio of programs ranging from gene editing to small molecule therapeutics.
