Company intelligence / Profile preview
Cellular Dynamics International (CDI), now FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics, is a global leader in the development and industrial-scale manufacture of human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technologies. Founded in 2004 by stem cell pioneer James Thomson, the company provides a vast portfolio of iPSC-derived cells (iCell) and donor-specific models (MyCell) for drug discovery, toxicity testing, and regenerative medicine. CDI has transitioned from a tools provider to a therapeutics developer, advancing a pipeline of cell replacement therapies for retinal diseases, Parkinson’s disease, and heart failure. Through its subsidiary Opsis Therapeutics and its state-of-the-art i-FACT manufacturing facility, CDI also operates as a premier CDMO, supporting clinical-stage programs for global partners like Century Therapeutics and Takeda.
