CECS-IStem

I-Stem (Institut des cellules Souches pour le Traitement et l’Étude des maladies Monogéniques) is a premier French research and development center focused on using pluripotent stem cells to treat rare genetic diseases. Established in 2005 through a partnership between Inserm, the University of Évry, and AFM-Téléthon, the institute operates via the CECS (Centre d'Etude des Cellules Souches) to translate academic breakthroughs into clinical therapies. The organization specializes in two primary pillars: cell therapy for tissue replacement and high-throughput drug screening using stem cell-derived disease models. I-Stem's pipeline includes advanced clinical trials for conditions such as retinitis pigmentosa and skin ulcers in sickle cell disease patients.
