Cedar Therapeutics

Cedar Therapeutics was a biotechnology company focused on developing precision medicines for neurodegenerative diseases, with a primary emphasis on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The company was founded to commercialize research from the laboratory of Dr. Kevin Eggan at Harvard University, which identified Stathmin-2 (STMN2) as a critical protein depleted in ALS patients due to TDP-43 pathology. By utilizing human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models, Cedar aimed to identify therapeutic candidates capable of restoring STMN2 expression to promote axonal regeneration. Although the company was a pioneer in the STMN2/TDP-43 space, it was voluntarily dissolved in 2022 following the transition of its scientific leadership to other industry roles.
