Overview
CeleCor Therapeutics is developing zalunfiban, a next-generation small molecule GPIIb/IIIa platelet inhibitor designed for rapid, high-grade, limited-duration platelet inhibition in the pre-hospital treatment of STEMI heart attacks. Zalunfiban is currently being evaluated in a pivotal global Phase 3 clinical trial ("CeleBrate") enrolling patients at the first point of medical contact—often in ambulances—with results expected in the second half of 2024. Earlier studies demonstrated rapid onset and offset of action with good tolerability; if successful, zalunfiban could address a major unmet need by reducing early mortality from heart attacks before hospital arrival[1][6][8].
