CellFactor Technologies was a biotechnology and medical device company specializing in regenerative medicine and autologous cell therapies for orthopedic and spinal surgery. The company's core technology, the Gravitational Platelet System (GPS), enabled surgeons to rapidly concentrate a patient's own platelets and growth factors at the point of care to accelerate bone and tissue healing. Its product portfolio also included the Symphony Platelet Concentrate System, which utilized similar principles for soft tissue applications. In 2004, CellFactor was acquired by Biomet for approximately $42 million to serve as the foundation for Biomet's biologics and regenerative medicine division. Following the merger of Zimmer and Biomet in 2015, the company's innovations remain integrated within the Zimmer Biomet portfolio. The company's work significantly advanced the clinical use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in orthopedic settings.
