Celliance

Celliance was a prominent bioprocessing company specializing in cell culture media supplements and reagents for the biopharmaceutical industry. Formed as a joint venture between Serologicals Corporation and Specialty Laboratories, it was later fully integrated into Serologicals before being acquired by Millipore Corporation in 2006 for approximately $1.4 billion. The company's flagship products include Probumin, a leading brand of high-purity bovine serum albumin (BSA), and EX-CYTE, a growth enhancement media supplement essential for large-scale biomanufacturing. Following the acquisition of Millipore by Merck KGaA, Celliance's technologies were integrated into the MilliporeSigma portfolio, where they continue to support the production of monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, and recombinant proteins.
