Cellis is a biotechnology company developing a proprietary drug delivery platform called MCell, which utilizes macrophages as Trojan horses to transport therapeutic payloads directly into solid tumors. The technology leverages the natural tendency of macrophages to migrate toward hypoxic and necrotic areas of tumors, bypassing the blood-brain barrier and other physiological obstacles. Their lead programs focus on treating glioblastoma and other hard-to-reach cancers by loading macrophages with ferritin-based nanoparticles containing chemotherapeutic agents.
