Company intelligence / Profile preview
XNK Therapeutics (formerly CellProtect Nordic Pharmaceuticals) was a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Sweden that specialized in autologous Natural Killer (NK) cell-based therapies for cancer. The company's lead candidate, evencaleucel (formerly CellProtect), was being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of multiple myeloma, often in combination with Sanofi's isatuximab. XNK's proprietary platform technology enabled the ex vivo expansion and activation of a patient's own NK cells to restore their cytotoxic activity against tumor cells. Despite achieving orphan drug designations in both the US and EU and establishing a robust pipeline for hematological and solid tumors, the company was declared bankrupt in April 2024. Its intellectual property and manufacturing assets were subsequently sold by the bankruptcy estate in mid-2024.
