Celltech Manufacturing Services

Celltech Manufacturing Services was the contract manufacturing division of Celltech Group, a pioneering British biotechnology company that was acquired by UCB in 2004. Based in Slough, UK, the division specialized in the large-scale production of biologics, particularly monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins using mammalian cell culture. It played a critical role in the production of several high-profile therapeutics, including the first antibody-drug conjugate, Mylotarg, for Wyeth. Following the acquisition, these facilities were integrated into UCB's global manufacturing network to support its immunology and neurology pipelines. The site remains a significant hub for biologics development and production within the United Kingdom.
