Centagenetix

Centagenetix was a biotechnology company dedicated to uncovering the genetic determinants of exceptional human longevity. Founded by pioneers of the New England Centenarian Study, the company utilized a proprietary genomics platform to analyze the DNA of centenarians and identify genes that confer resistance to age-related diseases. In 2003, Centagenetix merged with Elixir Pharmaceuticals to integrate its genetic discovery capabilities with Elixir's focus on metabolic pathways like sirtuins and ghrelin. The combined entity aimed to develop novel therapeutics for diabetes, obesity, and other conditions associated with aging, though the parent company eventually became inactive.
