Centegra Health System

Centegra Health System was a prominent community-based healthcare provider serving McHenry and Kane counties in northern Illinois. The system operated three acute-care hospitals located in McHenry, Woodstock, and Huntley, alongside a network of primary care and specialty clinics. In September 2018, Centegra was acquired by and merged into Northwestern Medicine, a leading academic health system. This integration expanded Northwestern Medicine's reach into the far northwest suburbs of Chicago while providing Centegra facilities with access to advanced clinical trials and specialized academic resources. Prior to the merger, Centegra was the largest employer in McHenry County.
