Centeon

Centeon was a leading global biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development and manufacture of plasma-derived and recombinant therapies for rare and serious diseases. Formed in 1996 as a 50/50 joint venture between Behringwerke (a subsidiary of Hoechst AG) and Armour Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of Rhone-Poulenc Rorer), the company became a major force in the fields of hematology, immunology, and critical care. Its portfolio included life-saving treatments such as Monoclate-P, Mononine, and Humate-P, which addressed critical needs in the hemophilia and bleeding disorder communities. In 1999, following the merger of its parent companies into Aventis, Centeon was renamed Aventis Behring, which was subsequently acquired by CSL Limited in 2004 to form what is now CSL Behring.
